Every Saturday during the fall sports season, Hughston Sports Medicine Fellowship physicians, Hughston Clinic physicians, certified athletic trainers and local physical therapists treat injured high school athletes at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital. Rather than requiring an athlete to pass an anxious weekend iced and splinted, early injury examination, diagnosis and treatment is given to athletes injured during their Friday night games. Along with their parents, athletes also receive advice on how to better manage their injury the rest of the weekend. These unique Saturday morning sports injury clinics start in August and run through November. Last year, the Hughston sports medicine team treated over 90 high school athletes participating in a variety of sports from the West Georgia and East Alabama region.
The Sports Medicine Injury Clinic will be every Saturday starting up on Aug 27 - Nov 5 at the JHMH
