Orthopaedic rehabilitation includes occupational and physical therapy to treat conditions that affect the skeletal system. An individualized course of therapy is laid out and administered one-to-one between therapists and patients. Hughston therapists are trained to treat the entire body, and the length of therapy needed depends greatly on the severity of your condition.
Injuries such as neck and back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, knee and ankle sprains and hip pains can be treated with orthopedic rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is often needed after surgery to aid in the healing process for patients who have had procedures such as a spinal fusion, total hip or knee replacement, or ankle reconstructions. Other conditions that may require rehabilitation include complete shoulder replacements, laminectomies, rotator cuff repairs and meniscectomies.
Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic maintains state-of-the-art staff equipment and facilities to aid in your recovery and rehabilitation. It consists of four specialty departments: Orthopaedics/Sports Medicine, Spine, Upper Extremity/Hands and Industrial Medicine. In addition to Hughston Rehabilitation on the main campus in Columbus, we maintain modern facilities in Auburn and Dothan, Alabama, and in LaGrange, Georgia.
